On March 10, 2010 (yesterday) the CloudForce2 event took place in the Evoluon in Eindhoven.
Subscription to the event was closed due to a lot of attendees. In total there where about 700 customer (existing and new) present.
The event started with the keynote where all attendees where present and Salesforce.com presented their solution introducing a new skin (user interface) and Chatter, the new business collaboration feature embedded within Salesforce.com’s core engine. The keynote was an American show with a little bit too much “fantastic” and “absolutely”. None the less I got goose bums a few times because of the way everything was brought/sold to the public.
After lunch the afternoon was split up into 3 sessions from an hour and 3 different breakout sessions you could choose from, so in total 9 sessions. Since Chatter was presented I choose this session to get more information on this (new way of working) feature. Unfortunately the presenter of this session was too nervous and could not convince the audience with his presentation.
My second choice was to listen to a presentation on the secrets of Salesforce.com. How are their 2 million users served, what is behind all this. Smooth presentation presented by a Salesforce.com employee who knew exactly what he was talking about. Very nice!
The last session I attended was a demonstration on how to build an app in Salesforce.com within 30 minutes with nothing more than a few mouse clicks. 2 custom objects (invoices and invoice lines), some validation rules, an approval process and some reporting. Nothing new to be seen there (except the seamless integration availability of Chatter), Simple but very impressive for new or potential customers.
After the breakout session we mingled a little and spoke to other partners, customers and Salesforce.com employees. Overall it was again a smooth show giving a good impression of the tremendous capabilities of Salesforce.com and the new way of working.
